How the Prize Money is Distributed
The total prize pot is divided into three main categories: performance-related prize money, equal shares (starting fee), and the value pillar.
- Performance-Related Prize Money: 37.5% of the total pot (€914 million) is distributed based on teams' results in the competition.
- Equal Shares (Starting Fee): 27.5% of the total pot (€670 million) is divided equally among the 36 participating teams, with each team receiving €18.62 million.
- Value Pillar: 35% of the total pot (€853 million) is distributed based on teams' coefficients and broadcast market payouts.
League Ranking Bonus and Value Pillar Explained
The league ranking bonus is a new addition to the Champions League prize money structure. Teams will be paid a bonus based on their final ranking in the league phase, with the team finishing top receiving 36 shares and the team finishing 36th receiving one share.
The value pillar is divided into two parts: a European part and a non-European part. The European part is distributed based on teams' coefficients and broadcast market payouts, while the non-European part is distributed based on teams' 10-year UEFA coefficients.
