'What about Rashford?': Man United fans baffled as reason for Ten Hag-Sancho dispute comes to light
A detailed report by The Athletic's Laurie Whitwell, one of the most reliable journalists, has delved into the chaotic episode that led to Jadon Sancho's feud with Erik ten Hag.
It all dates back to Manchester United's away trip against Arsenal in September.
Ten Hag was unhappy with Sancho's performance in the final training session and even made the latter rewatch the footage to understand where he went wrong.
It featured a game between Man United's preferred starting XI to face the Gunners against a shadow side - which included Sancho.
Whitwell understands Ten Hag made it clear he expected Sancho to apply himself more in training, especially during pressing. Of course, the winger disagreed.
However, some fans believe Marcus Rashford is equally to blame. He's struggled to score this season and his work rate off the ball hasn't been impressive either. Here are some reactions to this piece of information on X.
💬 UTDLui: "Got no issues with Rashford not pressing and being lazy though has he?"
💬 Alex Keenan: "And we are supposed to believe Anthony and Rashford were better in these training sessions."
💬 ClintDevil28: "Rashford must be a pressing monster in training! Like McSideways as well its all about the training pitch and nothing during the actual game!"
💬 Bazzer-baz: "Don't agree with Sancho....but damn if he picks that up why ain't he picking up Rashford and McTominay, is he blind to these 2?"
💬 LucasFloyd: "So Rashford and Mctominay can both be walking on pitch but he draws the line when it comes to Sancho?"
