What Erik ten Hag has done following the media leaks shows his resilience
Erik ten Hag wasted no time in sending a message to his Manchester United stars following the damning media leaks.
It was reported on Monday that a number of Man United players questioned Ten Hag's playing style, tactics and the treatment of Jadon Sancho.
Another source claimed that 50 per cent of the dressing room has turned against the Dutchman following their 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United.
The media leaks regarding Man United and Ten Hag saw the club ban four media outlets from Tuesday's press conference ahead of their game against Chelsea.
The 53-year-old also took matters into his own hands as he spoke to his players to send a message of unity.
That's according to Fabrizio Romano, who also claimed the Red Devils continue to support and protect Ten Hag amid the media leaks.
The Man United boss came out fighting in his pre-match presser as he dismissed suggestions he has a split dressing room.
"In every team, there are always players who are not playing or playing less who are less happy," he said.
"That is not different to normal."
He also referenced his side's performances in victories over Burnley, Brentford and Fulham as evidence of squad unity.
"You see the [late] comeback against Brentford, the Burnley game, the Fulham game; every time the team is there, showed great character, great determination and resilience," he added. "We are together. You can't play such great football as we did lately if there is no unity. No, there are no issues."
Ten Hag also defended his playing style and insists the squad support his methods.
"In general, the majority, they want to play like this - proactive, dynamic, brave. You can see the players are behind it because of the performances against Everton and Galatasaray. You see the we are really improving," he said.
"You see that goal? Do you think we can make the goal we did against Everton if the players don't embrace it? What do you think?"
