Revealed: how Man United plan to replace Onana in January during AFCON absence
Man United will give Andre Onana the chance to make the final decision on whether he wants to play in the Africa Cup of Nations for Cameroon in January, as per ESPN.
This is even though the goalkeeper is yet to actually make up his mind on if he wants to play for Cameroon if called up for the tournament.
Despite that, the Red Devils are currently resigned to losing him knowing the importance of the tournament.
Man United are confident that Altay Bayindir is capable of replacing Onana and that they are well prepared to replace him if need be.
The Turkish goalkeeper has reportedly been impressing staff with his work in training, but is yet to make his debut for the Red Devils.
Onana will take the final call on whether or not to play in the AFCON for Cameroon after holding talks with their football association’s officials.
