Pique Backs Xavi as Barcelona Boss
Former Barcelona captain Gerard Pique has expressed his full support for current manager Xavi Hernandez, stating that he is the right person to lead the club forward.
"We have to be patient with the project," Pique said in an interview on Jordi Baste's program 'El Mon'. "Xavi knows this club too well and has mastered the game model."
Pique acknowledged that Xavi has faced challenges during his tenure, including limited funds to bring in new players. However, he praised the manager for making the most of his situation by promoting young players from the academy.
"Honestly, I don't see anyone better than Xavi to handle this situation. I believe he's the right one for this job," Pique added.
Xavi has managed to secure two trophies in two years at Camp Nou, but Pique noted that one area where he could improve is his record in European competitions. Barcelona have only won 7 out of 20 games played in European competitions during Xavi's tenure.
Overall, Pique believes that Xavi is the right man to lead Barcelona back to its former glory and that the club's fans should be patient with the project.
