'We all know': France minister accuses Benzema of links to terrorist organization
Gerald Darmanin, Minister of the Interior of France, claims Karim Benzema is linked to a terrorist organization known as the Muslim Brotherhood.
Speaking on CNews, Darmanin said: "We all know that Mr Benzema is connected to the Muslim Brotherhood."
The Muslim Brotherhood are a popular sect who are a proscribed terrorist organization in many countries besides France given their radical ideologies.
The comments from the minister are quite shocking but they are not out of context. Last week, Benzema tweeted his support for the people of Gaza amid an ongoing war with Israel.
"All our prayers for the inhabitants of Gaza who are once again victims of these unjust bombings that spare neither women nor children," Benzema tweeted.
Toutes nos prières pour les habitants de Gaza victimes une fois de plus de ces bombardements injustes qui n’épargnent ni femmes ni enfants.

Benzema's tweet seems to take sides with the people of Palestine as opposed to a call for peace in the region.
The French striker is yet to respond to the grievous accusations against him by the French official.
The 35-year-old striker left Real Madrid this summer and signed for Al Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League.
