Real Madrid Sets Sight on Manchester City Striker As Benzema’s Replacement
After parting ways Karim Benzema and not replacing him this summer, new striker is very much at the top of the agenda for Real Madrid.
As such, the club has set their sights on a new striker, Fichajes reports.
Surprisingly, it's not Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland, though their names come first to mind when you think of a no. 9 to represent this team.
It's Man City's Julian Alvarez. The 23-year-old world champion joined the English side from River Plate for just €23m. During his time at the Etihad, the Argentine racked up 19 goals and 8 assists in 55 appearances for Guardiola’s side, coming off the bench most of the time.
Man City are reportedly interested in a move for Brighton’s Evan Ferguson next summer, which could potentially open the door for Alvarez's exit.
Alvarez's current market value stands at just €60 million.
