Osimhen’s TikTok Video Saga: Napoli Boss Reacts to Striker Deleting Club Images on Instagram
Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian striker for Napoli, has found himself in the midst of a controversy following a TikTok video released by the club. The video, which appeared to mock Osimhen for his penalty miss against Bologna, did not sit well with the player.
In response to the video, Osimhen subtly expressed his displeasure on social media, catching the attention of his manager. Adding fuel to the fire, Osimhen removed most Napoli-related images from his Instagram page, further indicating his discontent.
Despite the ongoing controversy, Osimhen was selected by head coach Rudi Garcia for the game against Udinese. He proved his worth by scoring a goal and contributing to Napoli's 4-1 victory.
Following the game, Garcia addressed Osimhen's social media activity. As reported by Football Italia, Garcia stated that neither party intended to cause harm. He said, “Nobody wanted to be hurtful, not the TikTok with the video of Victor, nor Victor by taking his photographs down on social media. Nobody intended to hurt anyone, these are instinctive reactions and are understandable.”
Garcia further defended Osimhen's actions by saying, “It is his social media account, he can do what he wants with it. All I can say is that he loves this jersey and will give everything for Napoli this season as well.”
This incident follows a previous disagreement between Osimhen and Garcia after Osimhen reacted angrily to being substituted during the game against Bologna. However, Osimhen later apologized to his manager and teammates for his reaction.
