Jamie Vardy Mocks Tottenham Hotspur at Music Festival Following Leicester’s Victory Over Southampton
Jamie Vardy turned up on stage at a music festival and decided to go after Tottenham Hotspur.
The Leicester City striker opened his account for the new season on Friday, putting Enzo Maresca's side 1-0 up in a thumping 4-1 away win against Southampton.
Less than 48 hours later and Vardy, who is known to enjoy a party, showed up at Victoria Park in Leicester for the BBC Radio 2's two-day In The Park festival.
Kylie Minogue, Tears for Fears, James Blunt, Sam Ryder and Lamar were just some of the big acts performing but Vardy hit headlines after coming out onto the stage.
The former England international was there to announce Vernon Kay as the next act but couldn't resist poking fun at Spurs, asking if any supporters were in the house.
The response was a chorus of boos and that prompted Vardy to add, "Still got no bottle!".
He's made a habit of winding up opposition supporters and his dig at Spurs is related to Leicester pipping the North London outfit to their fairytale 2014/15 Premier League title triumph.
Spurs' 2-2 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge confirmed Leicester as champions, with the whole squad celebrating at Vardy's house.
They've made a promising start to the new campaign under new boss Ange Postecoglou, remaining undefeated after a last-gasp 2-1 win over Sheffield United at the weekend.
Turning down a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia, Vardy has remained with Leicester following their relegation from the Premier League but made just his second start of the season against Southampton.
The former Fleetwood Town man will be 37 in January and over on the upcoming EA Sports FC 24 game, Vardy has been given one of the biggest downgrades in history.
His overall rating has dropped down seven places from 84 to 78 and even more shockingly, his pace attribute is now 76.
