Eden Hazard drops retirement hint: 'Time to enjoy life, drinking a few beers'
There seems to be no coming back to football for Eden
Eden Hazard turned down the chance to sign for a club in the Premier League and also rejected the opportunity to go to Saudi. For Hazard, life as a footballer seems over.
The Real Madrid record signing made that abundantly clear with what he said in the preview of the docu-series (‘Believe’) for the Belgian national team.
“Little by little it’s time to enjoy life with my family and friends, drinking a few Jupiler beers,” Hazard said in the documentary.
“I will always be a fan of the (Belgian) Red Devils and of beautiful football, if I could enjoy it. But I’ve always worn that captain’s armband with great honour,”
Hazard scored less than 7 goals in 76 Real Madrid appearances accross four years.
The 32-year-old can be considered a monumental flop at Real Madrid considering he was signed for €115m. The highest Madrid have ever paid for a player.
