Borussia Monchengladbach is a German football club in Mönchengladbach, North Rhine-Westphalia. Founded in 1900, Borussia Mönchengladbach play in the German top-tier Bundesliga. They first competed in the league during the 1965–66 season. The club became one of Germany’s best-known and best-supported teams.
They won the Bundesliga five times during the 1970s as well as two UEFA Cup titles in 1975 and 1979 and reached the European Cup final in 1977.

Borussia-Park is famous for its “Nordkurve” (or North stand), a single-tiered stand.
The club’s nickname is ‘Die Fohlen’ (“The Foals”), which was coined in the 1970s due to having a young team with a fast, aggressive playing style. They also refer to themselves as Die Fohlenelf (“The Foals’ Eleven”). This is displayed on their shirts.
