Xavi Names 21-Man Squad for Villarreal Clash, Fermin Lopez to Replace Pedri
Barcelona head coach Xavi Hernandez has named a 21-man squad for Sunday's La Liga clash against Villarreal.
The Catalan giants are without Pedri, who is out injured, but they do have the option of calling up Fermin Lopez, who has been training with the first team in recent weeks.
Ronald Araujo is also absent from the squad as he continues to recover from his own injury.
The full squad is as follows:
Goalkeepers: Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Ander Astralaga, Diego Kochen
Defenders: Eric Garcia, Jules Kounde, Andreas Christensen, Sergi Roberto, Alex Balde, Marcos Alonso, Pau Torres
Midfielders: Gavi, Frenkie de Jong, Oriol Romeu, Ilkay Gundogan, Marc Casado, Fermin Lopez
Attackers: Ansu Fati, Robert Lewandowski, Ferran Torres, Lamine Yamal, Ez Abde
Xavi will be hoping his side can get back to winning ways after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Celta Vigo in their last league outing.
Villarreal, meanwhile, are unbeaten in their last five games in all competitions.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 19:00 CET (12:00 ET) on Sunday.
