Xavi: Lewandowski Happy and Content Despite Slow Start to Season
Barcelona head coach Xavi Hernandez has said that striker Robert Lewandowski is happy and content despite failing to score in his first two games of the season.
"Lewandowski looks happy and content," Xavi said in his press conference on Saturday. "He wants to contribute through goals, but he's also contributing through other things, like the assist against Cadiz. The goals will come."
Lewandowski, who joined Barcelona from Bayern Munich last season and has enjoyed a brilliant start to his time at the Catalan club. He won the la liga and top scorers in his first year at the club. But 2023/2024 season has not started well for the Polish striker having zero goals in two games
However, Xavi is confident that the goals will start to flow for Lewandowski.
"He needs to score like the rest of the forwards, but he seems happy, and I'm calm about him," Xavi said.
Barcelona faces Villarreal on Sunday, and Lewandowski will be hoping to get on the scoresheet and help his team to victory.
The Polish striker is a proven goalscorer, and he will be confident of finding his feet in the Barcelona team in the coming weeks and months.
