Harry Kane tries to argue with referee but realises he can’t speak German

Harry Kane appeared to be involved in an awkward exchange with the match referee during his Bayern Munich debut.

Kane made his first appearance for his new club on Saturday following his £100 million transfer from Tottenham.

But he had a nightmare debut as the Bundesliga champions were stunned by RB Leipzig, who ran out 3-0 winners in the DFL Supercup final.

Dani Olmo bagged a stunning hat-trick as Leipzig impressively beat Bayern at the Allianz Arena ahead of the 2023/24 league campaign.

He opened the scoring in the third minute, then bagged another before the break. The Spanish winger completed his hat-trick in the 68th minute when he converted a penalty after Noussair Mazraoui handled the ball inside the box.

Before the spot-kick was taken, Bayern players protested the decision with Mazraoui himself remonstrating towards the referee.

Not to mention Joshua Kimmich who reacted angrily to the award of the penalty. Kane also approached the referee but seemingly to no avail.

He went up to the referee, though didn't say anything to the official as he watched his teammates argue the decision.

Kane was unable to win his first trophy of his career, with Thomas Tuchel left feeling sorry for his new star man.

"I'm just sorry for him. He probably thinks we haven't trained for four weeks. Our performance today had nothing to do with what we set out to do. It's a very bitter evening, I'm sorry," he said.

Asked whether it was fair to throw the England captain on for 30 minutes without much training, he replied: "I feel sorry for him but he wanted to play, he was ready to play and we decided to give him some minutes, why shouldn't we? I feel sorry, we didn't create for him. But he'll help us.

"Harry will start against Bremen and will play every game. He's our No.9."
