Fabinho was gifted with a Rolex watch by one fan, after he impressed for new side Al-Ittihad after he left Liverpool and joined a number of stars in Saudi Arabia over the summer

Ex-Liverpool star Fabinho was presented with a Rolex from an Al-Ittihad after his performance over the weekend.

Footage emerged on social media of Fabinho leaving the stadium, when he was stopped by one fan. The individual then presented the Brazilian with a Rolex watch, which was duly accepted by the ex-Reds star as he made his way home.

Fabinho beamed with a smile as he received the gift - but after he walked away he promptly dropped the watch. However, after a quick check, there were no scratches; the Brazilian thanked the fan and went on his way.

"Fabinho was gifted a Rolex by a fan because he played well…a fan. Na we can’t compete with Saudi," one fan joked. While a second added: "Bro Liverpool football club is finished. Never signing anyone ever again. We cannot compete..."

After joining Al-Ittihad, Fabinho penned an emotional message to Liverpool: "In these five years, I grew as a player, as a man, I made dreams come true... Thanks to Liverpool, I played in the best stadium in the world, with the best atmosphere in the world, which is Anfield.

"Thanks to Liverpool, I lived the biggest match of my life, the comeback against Barcelona, which was only possible thanks to Anfield. That moment will always be in my memory.

"I say this with a heart full of joy: I love this club. Thank you, Reds, for everything we've experienced together. You will never walk alone."

Fabinho isn't the only ex-Red in Saudi, with Steven Gerrard and Jordan Henderson's Al-Ettifaq dispatched a Cristiano Ronaldo-less Al-Nassr on Monday evening.
