Real Madrid to stick with current squad despite Vinicius injury
Real Madrid have received multiple offers to sign a striker in the wake of Vinicius Junior's injury, but the club is not interested in making any moves in the transfer market, according to Marca.
Vinicius is expected to be out for at least four weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in Madrid's 1-0 win over Celta Vigo on Friday. The Brazilian is one of the club's most important players and his absence will be a major blow.
However, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is not willing to panic buy. The club is confident that its current squad has enough quality to cope in Vinicius' absence.
Carlo Ancelotti, the Madrid manager, is likely to rely on Jude Bellingham and Joselu to provide the goals in the coming weeks. Bellingham has been in excellent form since joining the club from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, while Joselu is a proven goalscorer at this level.
Real Madrid's long-term plan is to sign Kylian Mbappe in 2024. The French striker is expected to be available on a free transfer when his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires next summer.
In the meantime, Madrid is content to focus on the present and try to win trophies with the players it has. The club is currently top of La Liga and is also in the Champions League.
