Mount ruled out of Man Utd's next two games

Mason Mount will be absent from Manchester United's upcoming Premier League matches against Nottingham Forest and Arsenal due to a minor injury, as confirmed by the club on Tuesday.

United disclosed that Mount sustained this minor issue during their 2-0 defeat against Tottenham on Saturday.

The English midfielder is projected to remain unavailable "until the upcoming international break next month," as stated by United.

Mount transferred to Old Trafford from Chelsea during the recent off-season for a sum of £60 million ($76 million).

Despite clinching the Champions League title in 2021, Mount encountered difficulties in maintaining his optimal performance towards the conclusion of his tenure at Chelsea.

He also delivered subpar showings in both of United's Premier League fixtures this season, thereby prompting concerns about his alignment with the strategies of manager Erik ten Hag.

Mount is not the solitary acquisition of the close-season by United who has encountered injury setbacks in this term.

Rasmus Hojlund, the Danish striker secured from Serie A's Atalanta, has yet to make an appearance for United due to a back injury.

Ten Hag's squad is slated to host Forest at Old Trafford on the approaching Saturday, followed by a visit to Arsenal the subsequent weekend in their final match before the international break.
