Kai Havertz’s stats emerge as Arsenal held by 10-man Fulham

Kai Havertz’s stats during Arsenal vs Fulham have left everyone speechless.

Having won their first two matches, Arsenal arrived at the Emirates Stadium hoping to make it three wins in a row by dispatching Marco Silva’s Fulham side.

However, the visitors went ahead after just one minute thanks to Andreas Pereira.

Arsenal equalised in the 70th minute before going ahead in the 72nd.

But Fulham were not to be denied as Joao Palhinha scored a late equaliser to earn the Cottagers a well-deserved point.

During the tightly contested affair, it was clear that Havertz struggled to get in the match and he also wasted a huge opportunity to get himself on the scoresheet.

After the match, the stats from Havertz’s 56-minute cameo have gone viral.

Although he had a passing accuracy of 87%, he only managed to complete 20 passes during his time on the pitch. Whilst only four of those were progressive passes.

Havertz only managed one shot, three progressive carries and a mere four touches in the opposition box.

Defensively, the German only made one tackle, and one blocked pass, won only one aerial duel and made five ball recoveries.

It is safe to say that Havertz did not have his best afternoon against Fulham, hence why Mikel Arteta brought on Fabio Vieira with more than 30 minutes to play.

TV presenter and Arsenal fan Piers Morgan said: “I don’t get Arteta changing our whole system to accommodate Havertz.

“Just isn’t working. Put Gabriel back in next to Saliba, move White to right back, and stick Partey in the middle where he belongs. And take off Havertz.”

However, Arteta defended Havertz during his post-match press conference.

He said: “I think he’s done good things today. It was tough for him in certain moments.

“He got in great areas again and the ball didn’t arrive, it didn’t arrive. A lot of situations he could have scored a lot of goals already and that’s the thing he is missing.”
