'It’s a big step for me': Djordje Petrovic's first words as Chelsea player

Djordje Petrović (Serbian Cyrillic: Ђорђе Петровић; born 8 October 1999) is a Serbian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Premier League club Chelsea and the Serbia national football team.[1] signed from  New England Revolution.

The new Chelsea goalkeeper completed his move to the London club today as announced on their official website and was also spotted on the stand yesterday during Chelsea's 3-0 victory over Luton 

"I’m so happy to be at Chelsea and I’m really excited to get started at this club," Djordje Petrovic said upon being announced as a new Blue.

"It’s a big step for me and it’s always been a dream of mine to sign for one of the biggest clubs in the world. Today I have achieved that goal and I’m so happy.

"Playing in the Premier League is something I’m really looking forward to doing and I hope to learn many things here at Chelsea. I can’t wait to meet everyone and play at Stamford Bridge."

The Serbian goalkeeper has signed a seven-year contract with his new club after Chelsea agreed a ₤14m deal with New England Revolution.

Last year, Petrovic was named the MLS Goalkeeper of the Year. He made a total of 43 appearances for his previous side before making a move to England.
