Inter Miami begin construction new state-of-the-art stadium where Lionel Messi will play

Home games have been played at the DRV PNK Stadium, which houses 21,000 fans in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
But after bringing in three of the best players in football history in Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, the Herons have a brand new stadium on the horizon.
Inter confirmed that work has began on a monumental 131-acre development featuring a 25,000 stadium, 58-acre public park and "entertainment district".
The privately funding project will be have sports facilities for the local community, as well as a hotel, shops, restaurants.
Real estate investment veteran Devon McCorkle has been brought onboard to lead the project, with firms like Arquitectonica, Manica, and CAA Icon all involved in the architecture, design and management of the stadium.

Crew and equipment is now on site at the location of the former Melreese Country Club and it's hoped that all work will be concluded by 2025.
The Leagues Cup champions will no doubt be hoping talisman Messi will still be around to play in the new arena.

“In creating a multi-faceted space we will set a new standard of what sport complexes can be. We look forward to delivering a food and entertainment destination for families to enjoy year-round.
"I can’t wait to welcome our fans to our state-of-the-art stadium and hear the chants as Messi and your Inter Miami players take the pitch for the first time in 2025.”
