Chelsea Set to Unveil Moises Caicedo Signing at Half-Time of Liverpool Showdown

Moises Caicedo could be unveiled as a Chelsea player during half-time of their Premier League clash against Liverpool.

Chelsea are set to beat Liverpool to the signing of Caicedo, who will command a British-record transfer fee of £115 million.

The Reds had a bid of £110 million for the star midfielder accepted by Brighton until he decided against a move to Anfield.

The Blues are on the brink of capturing the Ecuadorian as the player prefers a switch to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are pushing to complete the deal for Caicedo and harbour ambitions of unveiling him against Liverpool today.

That's according to Ben Jacobs, who tweeted: "Chelsea always looked at Sunday as a way of unveiling Caicedo. We saw them use half-time to bring out Mykhailo Mudryk in January. Would be gutting for #LFC to see him brought out at the game."

In another tweet, he added: "Important to again stress here (in response to a few questions) close does not mean done. It’s been a very complicated 48 hours of talks from what I am told. #LFC bid must be matched or (if a less preferable structure) surpassed. I don’t think anyone involved at Chelsea (or Liverpool) has had much sleep."

It would be some way to conclude the transfer saga of Caicedo if Chelsea could unveil him against Liverpool of all teams.

Jurgen Klopp wanted the 21-year-old as he looks to strengthen his midfield options ahead of the transfer deadline.

The German boss has recruited Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, while the likes of Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Naby Keita have all left the club this summer.

As for Chelsea, Mauricio Pochettino is hoping to pair Caicedo with Enzo Fernandez, who cost the club a massive £107 million.
