Barcelona Reject Romelu Lukaku Offer as Chelsea Look to Offload Outcast
Chelsea have offered Romelu Lukaku to Barcelona in a desperate attempt to get the striker off their books, according to reports.
The Belgian international has been frozen out by new manager Mauricio Pochettino and is keen to leave Stamford Bridge.
However, Barcelona are not interested in signing Lukaku, who would command a salary of €325,000 per week.
The Catalan club are already struggling to meet their wage bill and are not willing to add to their financial burden.
Lukaku is now expected to join Jose Mourinho's AS Roma, who are willing to meet his salary demands.
The 28-year-old has scored just 12 goals in 26 appearances for Chelsea since his £97 million move from Inter Milan last summer.
He has been a major disappointment and his departure would be a welcome relief for the Blues.
Barcelona are also looking to sign a new striker, but they are more likely to target a younger player who is not as expensive as Lukaku.
