Alex Zinchenko names Thomas Partey among the best defensive midfielders he has played with
Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been named among the best defensive midfielders that Manchester City's Alex Zinchenko has played with so far in his career.
The Ukrainian international made the revelation during an interview with Rio Ferdinand on his YouTube channel, FIVE.
When asked to choose between Partey and Manchester City teammate Rodri, Zinchenko said: "It's a tough one. I think they're both amazing players. I've played with both of them and I've learned a lot from both of them.
When the Ukrainian was struggling to pick between Partey and Manchester City midfielder Rodri, former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand was shocked.
Ferdinand could not believe that the Arsenal star did not think that Rodri was better than Partey.
In response, Zinchenko said: “Come one day to see him in the training session. Come one day and see him. He has everything.”
Partey was expected to leave Arsenal this summer following Declan Rice's arrival. However, the Ghanaian has worked his way back into Mikel Arteta's place albeit playing at right-back
Partey has made 84 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
