Ahead of weekend game; Ten Hag Refuses to Comment on Greenwood Saga
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has refused to comment on the club's decision to release Mason Greenwood.
The Dutchman was asked about the subject twice in a press conference ahead of the Nottingham Forest clash at the weekend.
The first time, he said: "Look, we are not where we want to be with our team, I have a lot of work and a lot of focus on my team, so I focus on the players who are available.
"I only have statements about our performance, our squad, where we have to improve. Because it's clear, we have to improve. I have to put every effort in to get the team to perform. I focus on the current squad
"The players available. Once again, what Manchester United fans expect is winning and I'm responsible for that and I have to put all my effort and all my focus and make us play better than we do now."
When pushed by another reporter on the Greenwood subject, Ten Hag's reiterated his point: "I focus on the current squad and the players available."
Man United have officially confirmed that Greenwood will be leaving the club this summer after conducting an internal investigation into accusations of rape and assault against the 22-year-old who last played for the club in January 2022.
