Ten Hag speaks on Harry Maguire's role at Manchester United after captaincy removal
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has spoken about Harry Maguire's role at the club after the defender was stripped of the captaincy.
Ten Hag said that he respects Maguire and that he is still an important player for the team. He also said that he is happy to have four good center-backs at his disposal, including Maguire.
"We respect Harry Maguire," Ten Hag said. "He's very important for this squad, for this team. And, you know, in his role as CB, we have four CBs."
Ten Hag also spoke about the importance of consistency in his team. He said that he knows that he cannot rely on just 11 players, and that is why he is happy to have four good center-backs.
"I talked about consistency," Ten Hag said. "We know we can't do it with 11 players and so I'm happy we have four very good CBs."
Ten Hag's comments suggest that he still sees the defender as an important part of his team.
