Roc Nation chief hits back at 'fake news' that the agency are set to drop Romelu Lukaku

Roc Nation president Michael Yormark has dismissed suggestions that the agency are set to drop Romelu Lukaku.

Reports in Italy had suggested that Roc Nation were angry that Chelsea striker Lukaku turned down a permanent move to Inter Milan (where he was on loan last season) as he would prefer to join Juventus.

However, Yormark posted an Instagram story which read: ‘Fake news and irresponsible reporting must stop. Focus on facts and the truth.’

According to Football Italia, Inter have ended negotiations with Chelsea after Lukaku and his lawyer Sebastien Ledure failed to answer calls from directors.

Inter were prepared to offer £30million plus add-ons, after Juventus offered £32m plus £2m in midweek.

La Gazzetta Dello Sport claimed that Roc Nation were angry that Lukaku had been in talks with Juventus.

In April Gazzetta led a social media campaign after Lukaku was racially abused by Juventus fans.

Gazzetta state that Roc Nation are still looking to part ways with Lukaku. They say that Yormark's Instagram story refers to claims that the company abandoned the striker before negotiations with Inter collapsed.

Lukaku initially played for Inter on a permanent basis between 2019 and 2021 before rejoining the club on loan in 2022.

In total he has played 132 times for Inter and has scored 78 goals. He won the Serie A title in 2020-21 and the Coppa Italia in 2022-23. In addition, he was part of the Inter side that reached the Champions League final last season before losing to Manchester City.

Lukaku is set to return to training with Chelsea on Monday but won't go on the club's pre-season tour of the United States.

It is anticipated that the 30-year-old will still leave Chelsea in this transfer window.
