Man Utd target Andre Onana posts cryptic 'goodbye message' to Inter, it's now been deleted

Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana has posted a cryptic message on social media amid reports he is set to join Manchester United.

United are in talks to sign Cameroon international Onana from Inter as a replacement for David de Gea, whose contract expired at Old Trafford at the end of June.

According to Sky Sports, United has submitted an opening bid worth €45m (£38.5m) for former Ajax goalkeeper Onana, who played a key role in Inter's run to the Champions League final last season - where they were beaten 1-0 by United's rivals, Manchester City.

It is claimed that there is 'a gap in valuation' between the clubs, with Inter believed to want closer to €60m (£51.4m). However, there is a feeling a compromise can be struck by United are expected to return with a second offer shortly.

United opted against triggering a one-year extension in De Gea's contract at Old Trafford, instead wanting him to reduce his £375,000-a-week salary to remain at the club.

But a series of high-profile errors in the final months of the campaign has convinced Ten Hag to look for a new first-choice goalkeeper, with Inter star Onana now favorite to land the role.

Onana has now posted his own cryptic message on social media.

MSN report that the Inter goalkeeper shared a picture on Instagram of a man's foot, one in a sandal and the other in a designer shoe, alongside the caption: "Every life has a story, and every story has an end… never fool anyone."

The post, which is no longer on Onana's Instagram story and may have been deleted or expired, has led to speculation he was bidding goodbye to Inter Milan.

United may look to bring in two goalkeepers this summer, with Dean Henderson potentially joining Nottingham Forest on a free transfer.

Reports in Japan claim United have submitted a £5m bid for Urawa Red Diamonds' Zion Suzuki.

Japanese outlet Sponichi Annex claim negotiations between United and Urawa are 'progressing smoothly' with an agreement said to be 'imminent'.

In total, Suzuki has made just eight appearances for the J League club.

Given his lack of experience, Suzuki would be expected to provide back-up to United's club's first-choice goalkeeper - whether that is Onana, De Gea or another new arrival - should he join the Red Devils.
