Man Utd Fans Ecstatic Over 'Incredible' Andre Onana Display, Calm Despite Two Goals Conceded

In his debut performance against Real Madrid, Andre Onana,  left a strong impression on the fans despite conceding two goals. While he couldn't secure a clean sheet for the Red Devils, supporters have been effusive in their praise for the talented shot-stopper.

The match ended in a 2-0 victory for Madrid, with stunning goals scored by Jude Bellingham and Joselu. Onana was beaten by a remarkable bicycle kick and an audacious chip, but these exceptional goals did not overshadow his noteworthy contributions.

Throughout the game, the Cameroonian goalkeeper displayed his skill and agility, making three crucial saves that kept the scoreline from escalating further. However, what has truly excited the United fans is Onana's distribution play.

His ability to distribute the ball effectively and initiate quick attacks from the back has captured the imagination of the supporters, giving them confidence in his capabilities as the team's new goalkeeper. Despite the result, there is optimism and excitement surrounding Onana's future performances for Manchester United.

The shot-stopper finished the game with 95 per cent passing accuracy, completing 39 of his 41 attempted passes.

It’s a far cry from times under former keeper David De Gea who often found himself caught out with the ball at his feet.

And United fans are delighted.

One wrote: “Nahh man Getting Onana for 55m was an absolute steal if you think about the massive upgrade we've got…”

Another said: “So impressed with that Onana's performance. Build-up, distribution, made some really good saves, and showed leadership qualities at the back. Absolutely excited for this top quality signing.”

Another commented: “Onana is just a breath of fresh air, looks so comfortable whenever he has got the ball, what a signing he is going to be for us.”

A fourth added: “Onana has affected us so much with his playing style that we thought it was him sweeping up when the invaders came in. I lost my senses for a sec.”

A fifth said: “Onana brings something totally different to this team, already know he’ll be amazing for us.”

Onana was caught off his line for the first Real Madrid goal, however, it certainly can be argued that it shouldn’t have stood in the first place.

Bellingham had strayed offside before chipping the 27-year-old, but with no VAR in play the goal stood.

It then took a brilliant acrobatic effort from Joselu to make it 2-0 for Real Madrid.

But despite conceding two goals, Onana will be pleased with the response to his performance.
