Inter Milan director admits he has secret Instagram account to spy on players’ WAGs
Inter Milan's sporting director, Piero Ausilio, has admitted he runs a secret Instagram account to monitor Inter's glam WAGs after one in particular caused him a lot of problems
Inter Milan's sporting director has admitted he has a secret Instagram account so he can spy on the Nerazzurri's WAGs.
Piero Ausilio was speaking at an event about dealing with problems that can arise with social media in modern football. And in a viral video from the event, Ausilio admits he monitors his players and their WAGs via a secret Instagram account.
Ausilio revealed that a WAG of a 'famous player' caused him so many problems, it lead to him creating the social media account. He said: "Now I confess one thing.
"I don't have an official Instagram account but I did set one up because the famous wife of a player was causing me problems. Many things can be understood from wives and girlfriends, including the footballer's personality.
"Then I also follow players, even from other teams. But I created it for a footballer's wife who was giving me so many problems!"
Ausilio didn't reveal the identity of the player, or his significant other, but it didn't stop fans from speculating who the player was - with most concluding Mauro Icardi and Wanda Nara.
Wanda and Inter Milan haven't always seen eye-to-eye, with Inter's CEO Giuseppe Marotta slamming the stunning agent back in 2019. Wanda had claimed Icardi had turned down big money moves to leave the club.
Inter Milan fans speculated the player and WAG in question was Wanda Nara and Mauro Icardi |
Marotta fumed: "We greeted Wanda Nara's comments with a pinch of irritation, both for the timing and the method!" Wanda also annoyed higher-ups when she criticised the team after her husband was left out of the starting XI.
Icardi left Inter Milan in 2020, when he moved to PSG, but he has since been shipped out on loan to Galatasaray.
However, Ausilio made no reference to who the WAG could be - and a lot Inter's stunning WAGs regularly post cheeky snaps on the social media platform.
Agustina Gandolfo, Lautaro Martinez's wife, is one of the most active on the platform - and the stunning blonde regularly shares snippets from her life. However, they have become more family oriented in recent years with the couple welcoming their first child.
Speaking at the event, Ausilio also addressed the future of Romelu Lukaku: "I don't like to talk about timing, but about ideas. Lukaku is an idea of ours, but he is a Chelsea-owned player.
"The dialogue never stopped with them, we know he cannot be handed to us for a second season on loan, so we are evaluating if it is possible to buy him outright.
"He knows full well that we want to bring him back here, we'll see if we can find the solution with Chelsea."
