FIFA Bans Al-Nassr from Registering New Players
FIFA has banned Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr from registering new players for failing to pay add-ons owed to Leicester City as part of the Ahmed Musa deal.
The ban comes after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruled in favor of Leicester City in February. CAS ordered Al-Nassr to pay the Foxes €460,000 in performance-related add-ons.
Al-Nassr have failed to comply with the CAS ruling, and FIFA has now taken action. The ban will prevent Al-Nassr from registering any new players until they have paid the money they owe to Leicester City.
The ban is a major blow to Al-Nassr, who are one of the richest clubs in Saudi Arabia. The club had been hoping to add to their squad in the summer transfer window, but they will now be unable to do so.
This is not the first time that Al-Nassr have been sanctioned by FIFA. In 2019, the club was banned from registering new players for two transfer windows for breaching FIFA's regulations on third-party ownership.
