Enrique Cerezo: Atletico Madrid 'Not Worried' About Simeone Leaving

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has reiterated his desire to keep Diego Simeone at the club, saying that the Argentine coach is "crucial" to the team's success.

Simeone has been in charge of Atletico since 2011, and has led the club to two La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey, two Europa League titles, and two UEFA Super Cups. He is also the longest-serving manager in La Liga.

Cerezo's comments come amid speculation that Simeone could leave Atletico at the end of his current contract, which expires in 2024. However, the president has said that the club is not worried about the possibility of Simeone leaving, and that they will do whatever it takes to keep him.

"Simeone is a magnificent coach, he is crucial for us," Cerezo said. "He has been with us for so many years that we don't even worry about renewals: whatever he wants to do will be done. If he wants to continue, which he probably does, he will continue, and if we want him to continue, he will continue."

Cerezo also praised Simeone's work ethic and dedication to the club. "He is a coach who is always thinking about the team," Cerezo said. "He is always looking for ways to improve the team, and he is always willing to work hard. He is a great coach, and we are lucky to have him."

Simeone has not yet commented on his future at Atletico, but it is clear that he is a key figure at the club. Cerezo's comments suggest that the club is confident that Simeone will remain in charge for the foreseeable future.
