Chelsea striker Armando Broja has left Chelsea fans confused following a cryptic post on Instagram.
Broja has been out of action since the World Cup after he suffered a horrific cruciate ligament injury whilst playing in a friendly for Chelsea – finishing the season with just one goal in 19 games.
The 21-year-old has been with the Blues since he was a boy and has climbed through the youth ranks at Stamford Bridge.
Broja enjoyed a breakout loan spell at Southampton during the 2021/22 season where he scored nine goals in 38 games in all competitions, leading fans to believe he could become Chelsea’s main goalscorer- but that hasn’t happened as of yet.
Fans of Broja have become even more concerned regarding his future following his latest post on Instagram.
Amid Chelsea announcing the signing of striker Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal, Broja posted a picture with the number 18 on his back visible with a shot of a packed Stamford Bridge behind him, with a blue circle and two exclamation marks as the caption.

Some worried fans were convinced that Broja’s post was a stroppy response to the signing of Jackson, with one fan commenting: “Bro thinks he was gonna be the main striker till Jackson deal turns official”.
A second comment said: “The cryptic messages are just too much,” with a third saying: “Lol… people saying ‘proper Chels’. He wanted to leave to West Ham”.
But other fans deciphered the message to instead show his loyalty to Chelsea as he nears a return from the season-ending knee injury he suffered last season. “He gets it, propah chels,” one comment said.
Whilst another wrote: “Our real players are coming out now.” “I have real faith in him,” an enthusiastic Chelsea fan commented.
One thing for sure regarding Broja’s future is that neither player nor club will be in any rush to decide their next steps upon his return from injury.
Broja previously signed a six-year deal in September 2022, with the Albanian one of the first to receive a huge contract from Todd Boehly.
