West Ham fans clashed with riot police and dogs in the centre of Prague while celebrating their Europa Conference League win.
The Hammers tasted European glory for the first time in over 40 years on Wednesday evening when Jarrod Bowen downed Fiorentina in the final moments of the clash. And as Hammers fans partied into the Czech night, some scenes turned violent as fans clashed with riot police.
Images showed riot police surrounded by West Ham fans, with some police dogs getting involved. The police are brandishing batons as flares can be seen on the ground in the background.
The incident occurred in the old town - where police had tried to confiscate the flares, leading to a scuffle. Riot police stormed the group of fans when they lit a second flare, with fans responding by pelting the officers with bottles and missiles.
Earlier in the day, Czech police confirmed they had detained 16 Fiorentina fans after a clash had broken out in a bar between Viola and Hammers supporters.
One eyewitness to the events told local media “chains and belt buckles” were used by the Fiorentina fans. However, celebrations were largely kept under control, with Hammers fans celebrating in the streets.

There were unsavoury scenes in the match itself, when Fiorentina's captain Cristiano Biraghi was struck by a projectile. West Ham fans had hurled plastic pint cups and a vape at the Italian, with one of the objects striking him in the back of the head.
The final was temporarily halted as Biraghi was given medical attention after he was cut by the object. Fiorentina's skipper was forced to play the rest of the game with a purple headband.
