Sergio Rico's wife has confirmed the PSG star is out of a coma following a horse-riding fall.
Rico, 29, was rushed to hospital last month after sustaining severe head injuries when partaking in an annual horseback pilgrimage to the El Rocio region of Huelva, near his home city of Seville, in Spain.
The goalkeeper was admitted to intensive care, where medical staff described his condition as "serious". At the request of his family, the Virgen del Rocio Hospital has only been providing major updates on Rico's progress.
The shot-stopper was taken off sedation two weeks ago but, hours later, was placed back into a coma.

Speaking to Spanish outlet Telecinco, Rico's spouse Alba Silva has now provided a positive update on her husband's condition, confirming he is out of the second coma. "We can finally see the end of the tunnel. We’re going there step by step," she said.
"I knew from the beginning that he would get through it because he’s a champion." Yet, despite the promising update, Silva also urged caution ahead of a lengthy recovery period. "We're going step by step," she added. "We need to be patient."
Silva had previously relayed a heartbreaking message on social media days after the accident, stating: "Don’t leave me alone, my love, because I swear I cannot. I don’t know how to live without you. We love you a lot."
Boyhood side Sevilla, where Rico started his career, paid tribute to the goalkeeper ahead of their latest Europa League final against Roma, donning shirts with the message "Come on, Sergio, we are with you."
PSG star Kylian Mbappe also displayed a bespoke shirt during the final game of the Ligue 1 season, holding up a jersey with Rico's name and number after bagging from the penalty spot. Prior to kick-off, fans inside the Parc Des Princes showed their support with their own Rico banner.
