Paris Saint-Germain Star Neymar in Hot Water Over Environmental Violations
According to L’Équipe, construction activities on a property owned by Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar (31) have been abruptly halted following the discovery of severe environmental violations.
Authorities in the Rio de Janeiro area intervened after uncovering unauthorised actions, such as diverting a watercourse, extracting water and sand without permits, and engaging in unapproved excavations. Neymar potentially faces a hefty fine of at least €1 million for the damages caused.
The property in question, situated on a sprawling 10,000-square-meter plot, boasts luxurious amenities such as a helipad, spa, sauna, massage room, gymnasium, and dining spaces.
However, the construction work has been temporarily halted due to the environmental violations, pending resolution of the legal proceedings.
This incident adds to a series of challenges faced by Neymar and his family in recent times. The Brazilian football star has been recovering from ankle surgery he underwent in March, and he recently publicly apologised after cheating on his pregnant girlfriend.
