Mason Mount laughs off Man Utd question from Martin Brundle on grid walk

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount awkwardly laughed off a question about moving to Manchester United from F1 broadcaster Martin Brundle at the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona.

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has not denied he could be about to join Manchester United in the near future at the Spanish Grand Prix.

The England international, who looks set to depart Stamford Bridge this summer, ran into Formula One broadcaster Martin Brundle, who was doing the rounds as usual ahead of the race in Barcelona.

After initially chatting to his Chelsea team-mate Ben Chilwell during his gridwalk, Brundle was then pointed in Mount's direction by the latter.

"Let's have a word with Mason," said Chilwell pointing Brundle towards Mount.

And, with speculation currently rife about Mount's future and where it may lie, Brundle could not turn down the opportunity to see if he could tease an answer out of the Chelsea star.

"Mason, he said you're going to Manchester United," laughed Brundle.

Slightly awkwardly, and while giggling away, Mount replied: "I'm here to just enjoy this race today. It's an amazing day, can't wait to watch it."

Of course, while Mount laughed off the question, he did not say no. In recent weeks, it has become widely speculated Mount will join Manchester United this summer, which would see him leave his boyhood club for Old Trafford.

And his lack of an outright denial to Brundle's question has been picked up by Man United fans on social media, who are now convinced Mount will be joining their team in the coming weeks.

One fan wrote on Twitter: "He changed the subject. My boy is coming." Another added: "He doesn't deny it."

A third commented: "He didn't say no, he's coming surely." While a fourth said: "We know he wanted to say yes."
