Marcus Rashford is on the verge of becoming Manchester United's highest-earning star as he closes in on a new long-term contract.

The 25-year-old is set to earn a whopping £375,000-a-week, bringing him level with the club's top paid player, David de Gea, with negotiations believed to be in the final stages.

The deal will also see him become the joint-second highest earner in the Premier League, behind Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne who makes £400k-a-week. It'll also take his wages past England team-mate Raheem Sterling, who earns £325k-a-week at Chelsea, and Liverpool's Mo Salah, who rakes in £350k-a-week.

Rashford is due to enter the final year of his £250k-a-week contract at the end of the month, though his new deal is expected to be confirmed before then.

The extension is likely to end speculation linking Rashford with a move to PSG, who are long-term admirers of the forward.

The Ligue 1 giants have been monitoring his contract situation for some time and consider him an ideal replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who is likely to leave the club in 12 months' time when his deal at Parc des Princes expires.

It's understood Rashford has been keen to extend his stay at Old Trafford for some time, despite being heavily linked with an exit last year, having been impressed with manager Erik ten Hag.

He scored 30 goals in all competitions under the Dutchman last season - a career best - and was arguably in the form of his life during the winter months.

United are expected to bring in a new centre forward this summer which will take some of the goalscoring workload off Rashford's shoulders, with the likes of Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen, Goncalo Ramos and Rasmus Hojlund all heavily linked with moves to the club.
