Popular TV presenter Kate Abdo had signed an exclusive four-year deal with American broadcaster CBS to anchor their Champions League coverage.

Abdo has been widely praised for her role in CBS' coverage of Europe's premier competition. And she revealed live on air, after some pressure from Micah Richards she had extended her deal with the American broadcasters.

The presenter had worked on Sky Sports News before moving towards hosting duties with CBS, and she joked: "Listen, you could cut me now and I would bleed CBS." Abdo is regularly joined by Richards, Jamie Carragher and Thierry Henry for the coverage.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola even praised Abdo after he completed the Treble when appearing on the show. Guardiola said the CBS show is the "funniest in the Champions League this season."

Abdo said on social media: "I’m so blessed, and so grateful. Four more years with a network that has been so good to me, and a show and team that I love!"

"The best UCL show in years," one fan responded. And a second added: "Watching this show is like hanging out with a group of friends. This was more interesting than the game itself!"

"CBS saved football it would be a shame if the gang broke up," a third said. While a fourth tweeted: "Amazing and well deserved! Such a fun show!"

And another added: "What you guys do is so fun to watch!"

The US broadcaster will have coverage of the Champions League until the end of the 2029-30 season, and it's likely that Abdo and the show's band of pundits will likely remain a fixture for years to come - despite links Henry could move back into management.
