Fan crashes into Gary Neville's Land Rover and then asks Man Utd legend for a selfie
Sky Sports pundit and ex-England defender Gary Neville has been involved in a road traffic accident in Manchester, with the driver in the other car cheekily asking for a selfie
Gary Neville’s summer has suffered an early mishap after his Land Rover was struck by another vehicle – with the owner then cheekily asking the Sky Sports pundit for a selfie.
With the football season over, the footballer-turn-businessman has more time to focus on his other interests, including a hotel in the centre of his native Manchester. It was outside that establishment where Neville’s 4x4 was crashed into, with the vehicle suffering minor damage to the wheel arch.
Neville seemed to take the incident in his stride, but may have been surprised when the driver of the other car asked him to pose for a picture. The former Manchester United right-back did oblige and the snap was taken, presumably before they exchanged insurance details.
This summer, Neville also be working behind the scenes at Salford City, the League Two he co-owns with United’s ‘Class of United’ and businessman Peter Lim.
Salford fell short again in their quest to gain promotion to League One after losing their play-off semi-final to local rivals Stockport County on penalties. Shortly after that defeat, it was announced that long-serving Salford chairwoman Karen Baird would be stepping down.
She said in a statement: “After an amazing 10 years as Chairman of Salford City Football Club and with the Club now under the full time stewardship of Nicky, Paul and Ryan, it feels the right time for me to step down.
