Danny Dyer insists x-rated chant about his daughter Dani and West Ham's Jarrod Bowen is 'romantic'

Danny Dyer says he has no issue with West Ham supporters' x-rated chant about his daughter Dani and forward Jarrod Bowen, even insisting the song is "romantic".

The chant has become the unofficial soundtrack to West Ham’s European adventure this season but has certainly raised a few eyebrows due to its lyrics, which reference the relationship between the pair: "Bowen's on fire, and he's s******* Dani Dyer!"

West Ham's squad were filmed singing the chant in their dressing room after their UEFA Europa Conference League semi-final win over AZ Alkmaar last month.

And it was used again on Wednesday night after the Hammers beat Fiorentina 2-1 in the final in Prague, with Bowen scoring a dramatic late winner to secure the east London club their first major trophy in 33 years.

Dani Dyer appears to have no problem with the chant, reposting a video of the West Ham players singing it to her Instagram story immediately after the victory.

And her father, West Ham fan and actor Danny Dyer, also insists he has no issue with the song.

"I think there's a bit of romance in it! Think about it," Dyer told DR Sports.

"It's a compliment, they are saying 'Bowen is on fire' and he's also ‘s******* Dani Dyer’.

"So if you’re thinking about it, it’s like they're saying it can’t get any better. There's a compliment in there.

"Sometimes I'll start the song off over West Ham, I'm not even going to lie."

When asked what he thought of the victory, which saw West Ham win their first major trophy since their FA Cup triumph in 1980 and first European silverware since the Cup Winners Cup in 1965, Dyer added: "I was going to go to Prague but I wouldn't have made it back.

"So I watched it indoors, civilised with a few pals. No, I had about 15 cans of Stella which is good for me boys.

"I'm buzzing and Jarrod’s over the moon, he's a bit worse for wear.

"I'll tell you something about Jarrod, he never gets nervous. I speak to him before a lot of games and he was nervous yesterday.

"This is huge for us. How many finals come round? And he came right to the front."
