Chelsea fans demand Reece James is made captain after he 'finishes' Arsenal fan
Chelsea fans have demanded Reece James is made captain after he 'finished' an Arsenal fan asking him to join the North London club.
The Gunners secured second place in the Premier League last season and have bolstered their side ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
They've snapped up Kai Havertz from Chelsea and are closing in on the signing of West Ham United star Declan Rice.
An Arsenal fan on Twitter also likes the idea of James plying his trade at the Emirates, sharing a post on social media.
The user uploaded a picture of the right-back, accompanied with the caption: "Reece James to arsenal who says no."
Well, the man himself replied as he savagely shut down the prospect of playing for one of Chelsea's rivals.
"I say no," he tweeted.
Chelsea's official Twitter account then weighed in, quote-tweeting James' post, tweeting: "One of our own."
The Stamford Bridge outfit also posted a picture of James celebrating at Arsenal, with a shushing face emoji.</

Naturally, the exchange on social media got Chelsea fans online talking as they want the 23-year-old to be made club captain.
One Twitter user wrote: "God Bless you our Legend Proper Chels."
A second tweeted: "Finished Arsenal."
A third added: "He’s the one and only true proper Chels. Make him the captain already."
A fourth said: "Give him the captaincy already."
Another commented: "My f**king star boy, my future captain."
Other than a loan spell at Wigan Athletic in the 2018/19 season, James has spent his whole career at Chelsea.
He's made 147 appearances for the club, scoring 11 goals since making his debut in 2019.
