Cheeky West Ham fan hijacks Stansted airport's PA system to deliver 'brilliant' message

A cheeky West Ham fan hijacked London Stansted's PA system to tell passengers "West Ham are massive".

Hammers supporters have been jetting off to Czechia, with their side set to face Fiorentina in the final of the Europa Conference League on Wednesday evening. However, one scamp had a unique public service announcement for passengers at the airport, as he declared: "This is a staff announcement, West Ham are massive!"

And Hammers fans loved the moment on social media, with one joking: "Great attempt to draw attention to our oversized bags team!" And a second added: "Hahaha brilliant!!! West Ham are massive everywhere we goooo!"

West Ham have claimed the scalp of AEK Larnaca, Gent, and AZ Alkmaar on their way to Prague.

However, they face a tough task in Fiorentina - who have solely turned their attention to European football in recent weeks. The Hammers could claim their second major European triumph, after they won the 1965 Cup Winners Cup, and their first major trophy since the FA Cup in 1980.

Speaking ahead of the clash, West Ham manager David Moyes said: "We're absolutely thrilled to be in the final. It's a big achievement for the club, but now it's about going and winning it.

"I don't know if we'll ever get a statue [if West Ham win] but I do believe that the players have got a good opportunity to be remembered by everybody at this club," added Moyes.

The Scottish boss, who has the opportunity to win the first major honour of his 25-year managerial career, said: "It feels special."

Wednesday evening also looks set to be Declan Rice's final game for the club, with the in-demand midfielder speaking about his aspirations to play Champions League football. Manchester United and Arsenal remain interested, but Bayern Munich appears to be the current frontrunner.
