Brazilian Soccer Fan Leaves Everything in His Will to Neymar
A Neymar fan has decided to leave everything he owns to the PSG star in his will, it has been reported.
The 31-year-old is one of the best players in world football across spells with Santos, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, and is also tied with Pele for all-time goals for Brazil.
He won the Champions League in 2015 with Barcelona, before almost repeating the feat in 2020 when he almost single-handedly took PSG to the final against Bayern Munich. However, the French giants lost 1-0 thanks to Kingsley Coman's strike.
Neymar has built up a huge following, both in Brazil and across the world, due to his performances on the pitch, and is one of the most popular stars in world football.
In 2013, a study from Stochos Sports & Entertainment, and shared by Barcelona's official website, revealed that the forward was actually the most popular footballer in Brazil - ahead of even his Barcelona team-mate at the time, Lionel Messi.
One fan, meanwhile, reportedly took his love for Neymar to new lengths with what is certainly a surprising decision.
Fan 'leaves everything to Neymar in his will'
The anonymous fan, who is 30 years of age, is reported as telling local Brazilian outlet Metropoles that he has decided to leave all of his assets to Neymar when he passes away.
Explaining the decision to the publication, the man revealed that he was not in good health, and identifies with the footballer 'a lot'.
He said (quotes via Reuters): "I am not in very good health and, because of that, I really saw that I have no-one to leave my things to."
When asked why he would leave assets to Neymar, given the Brazilian icon's wealth, he replied: "I like Neymar, I identify with him a lot.
"I also suffer from defamation, I am also very family-orientated and the relationship with his father reminds me a lot of mine with my father, who has already passed away.
"But above all, I know that, above all, he is not greedy, something a little rare nowadays."
The fan went on to add that he had attempted to send assets to Neymar before, but was unsuccessful in doing so.
Neymar is currently preparing for the 2023/24 season, after missing the final four months of the recent campaign through injury.
He has been linked with a move away from PSG, but should he stay at Parc des Princes he will not be sharing a pitch with Lionel Messi, who will leave the club as a free agent this week and is set to be confirmed as a new Inter Miami player.
