Angry Inter boss Simone Inzaghi 'completely loses it' as Man City clinch Treble
Inter Milan came agonisingly close to equalising in the Champions League final before losing 1-0 to Man City, while manager Simone Inzaghi was left fuming in stunning scenes
Fans were left in tears of laughter as Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi “completely lost it” in the Champions League final.
Inter came agonisingly close to Champions League glory for the first time since 2010 but were denied at the final hurdle by a 68th minute Manchester City winner courtesy of Rodri.
The Italian side didn’t give up without a fight, mounting several chances which were either saved by Ederson or blocked off the line by Inter forward Romelu Lukaku himself.
And in the last seconds before City secured a historic Treble, Inter boss Inzaghi let his emotions get the best of him by reacting in bizarre fashion.
Inter were mounting one final attack in stoppage time with a corner as the camera panned to Inzaghi. It showed the 47-year-old being approached by a man, who he suddenly grappled with a strained look on his face.
Inzaghi continued to push the man away in strange scenes as tensions overflowed, before offering a death stare. And fans couldn’t help but laugh as they took to Twitter to comment on the incident.
One Twitter user wrote: “Such a weird moment at the end,” while another tweeted: “He's so funny.”
A third wrote “Guy completely lost it,” while a fourth commented: “Awful behaviour.” And another added: “I was so confused when this happened.”
It was revealed by the BT Sport commentators that Inzaghi had encroached onto the pitch by stepping outside of his penalty area. The person he tussled with was understood to be a part of the stadium's security.
For Inter, it was a bitter end to the season as they finished second in Serie A and came away from Istanbul without the biggest prize in club football.
