Tom Lockyer given oxygen as Luton & Coventry medics rush to help him off on stretcher after collapse in play-off final

Luton Town defender Tom Lockyer was forced off early on in the Championship play-off final in scenes that worried fans.

The centre-back has been in fine form for the Hatters, playing 45 times in their stunning campaign in the second tier.

But the former Bristol Rovers man lasted just 12 minutes at Wembley having gone down unchallenged. Lockyer appeared to fall to the floor with nobody near him and then as he attempted to get up, sunk into the turf and lay motionless.

There was immediate concern and he received medical attention before being stretchered off and replaced by Reece Burke.

In an update from Sky Sports reporter David Craig, it was communicated that the Wales international was conscious in the medical room.

Luton went 1-0 up in the 23rd minute through Jordan Clark, with Rob Edwards' side well-placed to achieve a historic promotion to the Premier League.
