Manchester United interested in Napoli defender Kim Min-jae
Manchester United are interested Napoli defender Kim Min-jae but are yet to agree a deal, talkSPORT understands.
The South Korea international has been in stunning form for Napoli this term, playing a key role as they secured the Scudetto.
Over the course of the campaign, the powerful centre-back has made 43 appearances, scoring two goals and helping his team to an impressive 15 clean sheets in Serie A.
Naples-based outlet Il Mattino are reporting that the 26-year-old has agreed to join the Red Devils with only final details left to be sorted.
The report adds that Napoli have already already started the search for a centre-back to replace Kim.
But talkSPORT understands that negotiations haven’t reached that stage yet but Man United are interested in signing the player.
Having only joined from Turkish side Fenerbahce last summer, the £15million summer signing has certainly exceeded expectations.
Having only joined from Turkish side Fenerbahce last summer, the £15million summer signing has certainly exceeded expectations.
While it’s unclear just how such a deal could be worth, it’s been suggested that United will have to pay between £43million and £52million to bring him to Old Trafford.
For Man United, any deal could prove be a huge boost to their defensive ranks.
Injuries to Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez have left Ten Hag short of options in defence at times this season.
Additional options in the centre of defence is a big priority for United going into the new season, meaning that Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire could face uncertain futures as a result.
Both players have found regular first-team football hard to come by this season, meaning that they could be allowed to move on this summer.
