Ivan Toney is REMOVED from FIFA 23 by EA Sports in their latest squad update

Ivan Toney has been removed in FIFA 23’s latest squad update following his ban from football.

The Brentford striker will not be in the Bees squad in the video game as he sits out of action for eight months following the Football Association’s suspension.

Toney was banned from all football activity after he pleaded guilty to 232 of 262 charges, including betting on his own team to lose.

The FA wanted a 15-month ban for the 27-year-old England forward, but the length was reduced as he has been diagnosed with gambling addiction and pleaded guilty.

Now fans wanting to play with Brentford’s highest-rated player will be unable to do so as the 80 overall-rated star drops out of the game.

Screenshots from the hugely popular video game franchise show Brentford’s wingers Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo flanking 21-year-old Kevin Schade in Toney’s absence.

The news broke of Toney’s suspension on May 17 with one of the longest player bans the Premier League has ever seen.

Toney initially released a statement expressing his ‘disappointment’ and on Friday the FA revealed their full reasoning behind the decision with extensive documentation.

The publication shows Toney bet on his own team to lose on 13 different occasions, while he also admitted to lying about using other people’s accounts to place bets.

Following the FA’s release, Toney tweeted: “I’ll speak soon with no filter.”
