Fans confused after UEFA delete posters for Champions League final, two hours before kick-off
UEFA's Twitter account caused mayhem after they 'dropped the script' for this evening's Champions League semi-final second leg clash between Manchester City and Real Madrid, two hours before kick-off.
With the game tied at 1-1 after a pulsating first leg at the Bernabeu, it's all to play for on Wednesday night as Carlo Ancelotti's side try and retain their European crown against Premier League leaders City.
The Blues will be hoping for an Erling Haaland masterclass against the mighty Los Blancos, who will expect the likes of Luka Modric, Karim Benzema and Vinicius Jr to produce the goods.
With all that being said, thousands of fans were left confused after UEFA's official Twitter account uploaded posters showing the finalists of this year's Champions League final.
That's right. In what appears to be a scheduling mishap on Twitter, the governing body uploaded posters showing the finalists of this year's Champions League final.
In both posts, UEFA tweeted: "The finalists are confirmed and the scene is set. Answer 5 questions correctly for the chance to head to Istanbul!"
But the Real Madrid design picked up far more traction that the City copy on social media, and fans were quick to react to the 'mistake'.
One Real Madrid fan commented: "That UEFA tweet is going to rattle so many people if we win with a controversial ref decision omds I need it so so badly," while another said: "A Benzema controversial pen in the 92nd minute, I will be there no matter what."
A third added: "It seems UEFA sent out these tweets simultaneously for both Manchester City and Real Madrid before realising how bad each one looked in isolation and deleting them both."

Ahead of kick-off, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti admitted he was fearful of two Manchester City players.
“Today I’m very calm, full of hope and faith,” he said on Tuesday. “Tomorrow, on game day, that’s when the worries come in and you think things through, whether Erling Haaland will score, Kevin de Bruyne will hurt you.
“You try to put it out of my mind, all about managing thoughts, but we are happy to be here and feeling good.”
The Italian added: “It is a usual event to be in a semi-final. We have done it 11 years out of 13 – that’s not easy. Now bravery and courage are vital in games like this, individual quality can’t show if you aren’t brave enough to try stuff.”
