Cameroonian Goalkeeper Andre Onana Sets UCL Record After Inter Win
Inter Milan goalkeeper, Andre Onana, on Wednesday night, made history after his team’s Champions League semi-final first-leg 2-0 win over AC Milan at San Siro.
Onana became the first Inter Milan goalkeeper in history to keep seven clean sheets in a UEFA Champions League season after the AC Milan victory.
Recall that two first-half goals from Edin Dzeko and Henrikh Mkhitaryan gave Inter the victory over AC Milan.
The Cameroonian international was signed by I Nerazzurri from Ajax last summer on a free transfer.
The 27-year-old has proven to be a solid addition, largely impressing in the 37 games across competitions for Inter.
Onana has kept 18 clean sheets during that time, with seven of those coming in the Champions League – a club record, according to Squawka.
The report added that former Inter Milan goalkeeper Julio Cesar managed six shut-outs in 13 games when the Serie A giants won the Champions League back in the 2009-10 season under Jose Mourinho.
