(VIDEO) Liverpool's Andy Robertson elbowed by linesman in shocking footage
Liverpool defender Andy Robertson appeared to be elbowed by the linesman at half-time of the clash with Arsenal.
The two teams went in at half-time with Arsenal leading 2-1 after Mo Salah pulled one back following strikes from Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus.
But then pure chaos ensued after after the whistle was blown, with Liverpool players, including captain Jordan Henderson, absolutely seething and surrounding the referee Paul Tierney.
On commentary, Jamie Carragher claimed he saw the assistant referee Constantine Hatzidakis raise an elbow towards Robertson.
And then when Sky Sports returned from a break, they showed footage where the linesman did indeed strike the Scot in shocking scenes.
Robertson was seen venting that he had been "elbowed in the throat" and continued to fume after he walked in the tunnel as per touchline reporter Geoff Shreeves.

The former Hull City defender was booked by the referee but the linesman could well find himself in huge trouble for lashing out.
He assumed his position again for the second half but one would predict Jurgen Klopp will have a lot to say about Hatzidakis in his post-match interview.
Sky showed a number of different angles of the clash and it certainly did not look good from the linesman even if Robertson might have grabbed him first.
Roy Keane had no sympathy whatsoever for Robertson, however, and instead branded him a "big baby" and urged him to "concentrate on his defending".
The game got seriously spicy at the end of the first half when both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Granit Xhaka were booked for a heated altercation.
That fired up the Anfield crowd and Liverpool's players and set up a breathtaking encounter.
